About Jackfruit
Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is a large tropical fruit native to South Asia. In our sourcing belt the commodity is used both as fresh fruit and as a processed ingredient — tender raw bulbs can be retort-processed for ambient-stable supply, while unripe fruit is also used as a plant-based meat alternative in various food applications.
Post-harvest handling is critical: the fruit is latex-rich and perishable once opened. Our partners apply standard de-latex and cold-chain protocols to reduce spoilage and preserve texture for further processing.
